Making it and Losing It

Charles did what every son is expected to do. He graduated high school, went to college, got his degree then got a job. He soon realized listening to the same top ten songs every day during 2.5 hours of commuting was not for him. He quit his job and began marketing on the internet in 1999.

The internet and Google was in its infancy and there were not a lot of rules. Charles made zero his first month and $10,000.00 his second selling pdf plans of barns and sheds. He was creating tons of landing pages everyday and spamming them out. Google figured this out and shut him down.

Charles took a job to pay the bills while he was figuring out how to market successfully on the internet. Within six months he was making sales again. He kept his day job to prove to his family he could be successful online consistently and that it was not a fluke.

Mastering Traffic Sources

Charles knew to be successful he had to learn everything he could about every traffic source. He realized there had to be a few fundamentals that would make it work for anything. Anything being Facebook or ad words or email marketing or links. Charles knew there had to be a pattern.

Once he found those patterns, it opened up the opportunity for Charles to work with other people. He took the patterns he learned and applied them to business. His clients began to realize how it all really worked and it was amazing the success he and his clients began to see.
